Why scientists are different
xkcd on why scientists are different from non-scientists.
![The best hugs are probably from hagfish, which can extrude microscopic filaments that convert a huge volume of water around them to slime in seconds. Instant cozy blanket! Beauty](http://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/beauty.png)

I don't think it's scientists versus non-scientists as much as scholars versus non-scholars. My humanities friends (and in Oxford I have been hanging out with more of those folks than with scientists) are just as strange as we are.
