Questions of Love

My love,
 were your lips any sweeter,
 roses would have blushed
 to the colour of your lips;

My love,
 were your love any warmer,
 I would have melted
 in your arms;

My love,
 had our souls held in eternal kiss
 our bodies would have been locked tongues
 our lips us and we one in bliss;

My love,
 had you not closed your eyes,
 the brilliance of the radiant sky
 would have blinded me
 and the depth of the deep seas
 drowned me;

My love,
 had your questions been any sharper,
 they would have shred our silence
 to pieces
 and laid it at the end of our feet.
